Østre Aker Musikkorps (ØAM) is a group of girls and boys, women and men in the age-span between 15 and 65, with the average mental age of 28, and we love to compete in music both in Norway and abroad. Everyone who plays an instrument that can be used in a symphonic band are welcome. We do not require a musical test for potential new members.

As a marching band, ØAM takes marching seriously, and try to look our best when performing outdoors. The conductor, together with an elected musical committee selects the bands repertoire, partly through prima vista play and suggestions from band members.

A yearly elected board governs ØAM. Membership fees, performing fees and other sorts of income cover all costs. Some of our income is generated by smaller groups playing at christmas parties, boat charters, and company parties etc.

ØAM has it's own quarters consisting of band practice room, party room, office, kitchen, washrooms, storage room and wardrobe. In these quarters we meet every Monday for practice between 18:30 and 21:30, and once in a while for parties. The bands social life has priority 2, after our first priority of course: MUSIC.

ØAM invites anybody who would like to play with us for longer or shorter periods of time to come and test us out. We are situated in the southern part of Oslo along the circular road 3 (Ring 3) near Manglerud (T-Bane/Tube 1 and 4 towards Bergkrystallen).
